The International Association of Open Access Philosophy Journals (IAOAPJ) is a non-profit organization that accredits open access philosophy journals of highest scholarly and technical standards. Accredited journals are automatically members of the IAOAPJ, represented by either their editor or their publisher, as long as they pass the annual review.
The members of the IAOAPJ approve the accreditation criteria and the implementation of new technical applications. Members of the IAOAPJ also elect the Accreditation Committe, the Technical Committee, the Executive Director, and the select the External Advisory Board.
Based on the approved criteria, the accreditation committee, elected by the members of the IAOAPJ, decides on applications submitted by new journals and performs annual reviews of all member journals. The accreditation committee also develops suggestions for further improving scholarly accreditation criteria.
The technical committee, elected by the members of the IAOAPJ, develops suggestions for further improving technical accreditation criteria and for the implementation of new technical solutions. The technical committee also works together on all technical matters with other organizations, such as libraries and open access associations from other disciplines.
The executive director, elected by the members of the IAOAPJ, represents the IAOAPJ in the public and performs the daily business that is not part of the responsibilties of the members and the committees.
External Advisory Board
A board of external advisors, who must not be members of the IAOAPJ but should be members of the international philosophy community, supervise the activity of the IAOAPJ and its committees. Members of the board are supposed to support journals accredited by the IAOAPJ.
Sponsors are individuals or institutions of high recognition who support the ideas and promote the activities of the IAOAPJ.
